Somatic Stress Release Workshop
When was the last time you were present with your body? In the fast-paced world we live in, it can be easy to dissociate from the body, causing us to store unprocessed stress in the body. This can lead to symptoms like chronic tension, anxiety, chronic pain, decreased mobility, poor posture, digestive issues, and low mood. Somatic healing can bring us deeper into relationship with the body and untangle the layers of emotion and tension that get stuck there.
This workshop is a chance for you to come back home to your body and release tension through deep awareness, gentle movement, and healing self-bodywork. We’ll explore how you can work with your nervous system to regulate yourself through gentle practices and techniques that you can use in your everyday life. Come as you are and leave feeling centered and refreshed.

This community event is designed for heart-centered people who want to meet like-minded individuals in an authentic, meaningful way. The “Connection Games” portion of our event will be followed by a Contact Latihan — a blindfolded devotional touch and movement practice.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Gentle breathing and movement exercises to relax and center yourself
Engaging authentic relating exercises that foster trust and presence
Safe, consensual platonic touch (e.g., hand massages, sitting back-to-back)
Opportunities to co-regulate, laugh, and feel grounded with others
This is a Community Edition event—open to everyone ready to slow down, connect, and recharge. Come as you are and leave feeling lighter, more present, and deeply connected.
About Contact/Latihan:
Contact is a form of movement that prioritizes flow over function and brings forth serendipitous, connective touch that moves bodies together in the form and formless. Latihan originates from a Subud spiritual path of spontaneous and inspired movement and vocalizations with others. Traditionally, men and women practice in separate rooms. We are practicing “contact Latihan” and so we’ve adapted some of the traditional rules to meet today’s conscious connect desires.
By way of gentle facilitation, with blindfolds and heart-centered contact touch, we reach out with the hand and make contact with another human body. The contact inspires a flow of continued movement across one or more bodies whilst the heart drops into a devotional space of receiving human contact without attachment, meaning, or expectation. We don’t “do” Latihan; we recieve it and then it pours forth from us. We honor the sacred in each body through slow, almost prayerful touch and receive a taste of the kingdom of Love through our devotion to this practice.
*The Contact Latihan will be optional

Dancing into Connection
Dancing into Connection is a two-part event that explores breath, touch, presence, movement, and authentic relating as portals into deeper connection with others. Christiana Joy Dominguez, MSW will lead us in a Tantric Breathwork and Consensuality workshop followed by a Partner Dance Meditation workshop led by somatic practitioner, Mia Becker, and dance instructor, Ben Meadows. We will practice embodying the ethos that conscious connection can be a catalyst for personal and relational transformation as we journey through the textures of connection with self and others.
2-3 PM: Tantric Breathwork & Consensuality with Christi
Tantric breathwork embodies the foundational elements woven together to form the body. The body can be a vast and marvelous playground, especially when we dedicate ourselves to the power within it. Sharing that power with others is a wondrous gift in the human experience. In this workshop, we will engage in a breath practice designed to ease us into our bodies’ power and bliss, and then explore new ways of sharing that energy with simple, non-contact direct human exchange.
3-5 PM: Partner Dance Meditation with Mia & Ben
Partner dance is defined as any dance that is danced with two or more people and can be a container for deep healing. This workshop will dive deeper into the concepts of breath, touch, presence, and authentic relating in the context of partner dance to deepen your connection with self and others and to embody your authentic expression. We will practice somatic connection exercises and discover what it means to be in a state of authentic connection and flow while moving with others. This workshop is applicable to a wide range of dance styles, including contact improv, Brazilian Zouk, and fusion dancers, as well as dance curious individuals. No partner or previous experience with dance is necessary to attend.

Co-regulation Station Workshop @ Anahata’s Purpose
We are surrounded by stimuli, distractions, and stressors that disconnect us from our bodies and each other. What’s more, we don’t often have time and space to come back home to our bodies and self-regulate before connecting with others. And yet, our bodies are constantly responding and reacting to each other in conscious and unconscious ways.
Resmaa Menakem wrote: “Our bodies guide and follow other bodies; a settled nervous system encourages other nervous systems to settle. This is why a calm, settled presence can create room for a multitude of possibilities, and become the foundation for changing the world.”
Therefore, in a world full of dysregulated individuals, co-regulation can be the medicine that brings us closer together in authentic ways.
In this workshop, we will explore coregulation through a trauma-informed and polyvagal lens with the use of somatic practices that will help you cultivate an understanding of your somatic experience of the world around you and bring you into closer relationship with your body and others.
Through breath, movement, and touch (with consent), you will explore how to effectively regulating yourself as a foundation for coregulation, learn how to listen to the changes that happen in your body when you interact with others, create mindful and consensual coregulatory experiences with others, and realize how you can use the power of coregulation to create harmonious relationships and communities.

Mackenzie Stevenson
My personal journey through anxiety and panic disorder sparked a deep curiosity about the intricate connections between mind, body, and spirit. Over time, I've discovered how to harness the wisdom of my body as a guiding resource. My passion lies in assisting others on their own paths of embodiment, creating a supportive environment where they can authentically witness and embrace their healing journey. Continuously evolving, I draw inspiration from the rhythms of nature and am deeply influenced by what came before us. My approach to healing is deeply rooted in reverence for the elements and the timeless wisdom they embody, and I offer this in my work through ceremony and ritual. Over the years I’ve trained in Healing Touch, Somatic Therapy, Cuddle Therapy, Tantra, Focusing Oriented Therapy and Whole Person Coaching. It’s an honor to be on this path with you!
Embrace the opportunity to prioritize your self-care journey. Join us at the Self Care Sensorium and embark on a path to greater vitality, resilience, and inner harmony. We look forward to welcoming you!
